Better Late Than Never

Well, February also did not go according to plan.

After my qualifier I promptly got sick and basically missed two weeks of training. With a little one (2 years old) sickness is a constant threat. March has started well with my first three weeks of full training yielding 310km. haven’t had a century in a while now I have three.

Final seeding for comrades has been confirmed and now the next focus is the two oceans. I have decided that depending on my Oceans time I will decide on my goals for Comrades.

In terms of a running month March has been as close to perfect as anyone can wish for, first the mileage, secondly ran a PB at the club TT, 35:22 for 8km and to top it off I met two comrades’ legends Bruce Fordyce and Nick Bester.

I have to say their advice, stories and general demeanor could serve as an example to any sports person who has ever achieved something in their lives. Great people.

Two Oceans is less than 2 weeks away as I write this, and I will be going for a sub 5 time, how this will effect my Comrades training and performance will probably only be seen or felt somewhere between Camperdown and Drummond.

Well those of you doing the Two Oceans enjoy it.
